SRS News Alert

How does it work?
The news client sits in your system tray in windows and regularly checks the website News Alerts that you have chosen . You will see it flash yellow when it is talking to these websites. If a new news story has been published it will then sound an Alert and display the news on to your screen. Once you have read the news just click close at the bottom of the news window and the News Alert client will return to your system tray and continue silently monitoring the websites you have chosen for further news

Is it safe?
Yes. You are in full control over what News Feeds you connect to. Only text news files are downloaded onto your computer. The only way a webpage can be launched is if you click on a weblink associated with a news story. The terms of use of the SRS News Alert Manager software that the websites uses to create the news feed, prohibits this service from being used for illegal activity.

How much does it cost?
The News Alert Client is free. We make our money by charging the website for the software to publish the news feed.

What Specification of PC do I need to run it
This software will run on any PC which runs Windows ME, Windows 2000 or Windows XP. We do recommend that you have a broadband or ASDL connection to the internet. If you use a dial-up connection the client will try to detect when you go on-line and only check for news storys when you are connected. When you are not on-line it will sit idle.
