How do I connect it to a News Alert Enabled Website?

Error Messages: Invalid header / Unable to download news.
The error message should give you the news service that is causing the error.  Click configure from the tray icon menu and select the news service that the error message was for. Click Update service. This will update the news service settings contained within your News Alert client.  If this update fails, go onto the internet and see if the website has changed how it asks you to connect to its news service, if it has delete the news service and follow their instructions to re-link to it. If the update was successful click on "test service" if this fails the most likely cause is that the website is experiencing problems.

If the news service website it temporarily down disable that news service by clicking on it and clicking "Disable Service" on the config screen. If the news service no longer exists just delete it from your list of news services by selecting it and clicking "Delete Service".

This error can also sometimes appear if your computer is coming out of hibernate as the news client as downloading a news story.
 

Error Messages: Table or Database error
Make sure SRS News Alert is not running by checking your task bar and your task list (task list is usually displayed by pressing ctrl-alt-del). If it is running please close it. From your start menu find the entry from SRS News Alert client (by default:  all programs | Silver River Software | News Alert Client) and run "Reset News Alert Client DB".  You will be asked to confirm you really wish to reset your settings. Select yes and SRS News Alert will attempt to delete its setting file and create a new clean setting file for you.
Doing this will cause you to loose details of all News Feeds you connect to.
